Robert Vegas ("I", "we," "us," or "our") operates the FOXO3 Log mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use this application.
We collect the minimum data needed to run the app, and give you control over what's visible to others:
When you log a meal or workout by typing, taking a photo, or using voice entry, that text, photo, or audio recording is sent to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Groq, depending on the API key configured in your settings) to identify foods/activities and estimate nutrition or exercise details. This processing happens in real time to generate your log entry. We do not store it on our servers, and photos taken to log a meal are not uploaded anywhere else. The app asks for your permission before the first time your entries are sent to an AI provider, and you can withdraw it at any time in Profile ("Send entries to my AI provider"). Each provider handles the data under its own terms. Barcode scans are looked up directly against the Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central databases and do not involve AI unless no nutrition data is found on file, in which case an AI estimate is used as a fallback.
Some phones (those with built-in AI, such as Apple Intelligence or Gemini Nano) can read your typed or spoken entry on the device itself. In that case the reading of your entry is not sent to an AI provider. Looking up a food's nutrition may still query USDA FoodData Central by food name.
The Habits screen shows patterns such as your usual bedtime and wake-up time, when you tend to eat, and which days you usually work out. These patterns are worked out on your phone each time you open the screen, from your own logs and from sleep times that you allow the app to read from Apple Health or Health Connect. They are not saved as a profile, and they are not uploaded, shared, sent to analytics, or sent to an AI provider.
On Android, Health Connect normally gives an app only the last 30 days of data. If you choose "See longer history", the app asks for Health Connect's "read history" permission so it can read older sleep times for the same on-device patterns. You can withdraw this permission at any time in Health Connect settings.
If you add your age and activity level in Profile, they are used only to estimate your daily calorie goal. They are stored on your phone only and are never uploaded, shared, sent to analytics, or sent to an AI provider.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used and to find and fix problems. It automatically collects app opens and screen views, session length, your operating system version, app version, language, approximate location at country level (derived from your masked IP address, not from GPS), the date you first opened the app, and an anonymous app instance identifier. We also record whether your phone supports built-in on-device AI and whether you have added the home-screen calorie widget, so we know which features are used. When you sign in or create an account, we record which method you used (Apple, Google or email) so we can see how people sign in. No account details are included.
We do not send your food, workout, health, or body data, text you type, photos, or your name or email to analytics. We use analytics only to measure and improve the app. We do not use it for advertising, we do not use your device's advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites. Analytics data is processed by Google and kept for a limited period. Analytics is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time in the app under Profile → Privacy ("Share anonymous usage stats"). You can also contact us at the address below with questions about analytics data.
You have control over what you share. Your meal and workout logs stay on your device. Only the entries and progress photos you choose to share, and the comments you write, are visible to the people who follow you. Your handle and display name are visible to other signed-in users. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
If you report a post, comment or person, or block someone, that information is used only to review and act on it, and may be forwarded to us as an alert. The person you report is not told.
The app relies on the following third-party services to function:
Food and nutrition data in FOXO3 Log comes from the OpenNutrition dataset, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Some of it is © Open Food Facts contributors. Barcode scans use Open Food Facts, and nutrition lookups can use USDA FoodData Central.
